JERUSALEM, August 23, 2011 (WAFA) - The Information Center of Wadi Helwa, in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, Tuesday warned of new intensive efforts carried out by associations of Jewish settlements to control more Palestinian properties in Jerusalem in the coming months to expand settlements.
In a press release, the center said that Jewish settlers are seeking to carry out this plan with the unlimited support of official Israeli institutions.
It added that they received information that settlers are seeking to take over a seven-storey building in Al Farouk, a neighborhood near Silwan, pointing out that the 'Elad' settlement association has previously taken over a building in the same area.
In a related matter, a new settlement outpost that consists of eight units will be built in Ras al- Amud, a neighborhood in East Jerusalem, in order to establish an entire settlement neighborhood, said the committee for the defense of Silwan.Palestine News & Info Agency - WAFA
