Paris Hilton loses cellphones on plane to Manila (AP)

MANILA, Philippines – Paris Hilton is suffering a new bout of cellphone drama. The heiress-turned-TV star reportedly lost two mobile devices on a flight to the Philippines for a visit to promote a hotel resort.

Television footage showed Hilton combing through a bag looking upset while she was surrounded by airline staff at the Manila airport late Sunday after arriving from Dubai.

Manila radio station DZBB reported that airport and airline authorities are investigating.

In 2005, hackers gained access to Hilton's Sidekick cellphone and famously splashed the private mobile numbers of her celebrity friends online.

The latest loss apparently didn't leave Hilton completely cut off — she greeted fans with a tweet "I love you" in the local Tagalog language.

Portugal. The Man loses gear in Chicago heist (AP)

PORTLAND, Ore. – The rock band Portugal. The Man lost all of its equipment after its touring van and trailer were stolen from a Chicago parking lot this week, a publicist confirmed Tuesday.

The Oregonian reported (http://bit.ly/r2FmTZ) that the band lost dozens of items including vintage guitars and amps, keyboards, effects pedals, drums and microphones. The band's Ford van and black trailer were taken Monday from an attended parking lot near Chicago's Grant Park.

The band performed the night before at the Lollapalooza music festival.

Lead singer John Gourley told the Oregonian that the band had only recently acquired all the equipment they needed to make the music they want and put on the live show their fans have come to expect.

"Basically every bit of money Portugal. The Man has made over the last five years was in that trailer," Gourley said.

The band last month released its sixth album and first for Atlantic, "In the Mountain in the Cloud."

"We need to find this stuff," Gourley said, "because it's who we are and what we do at this point. It's the last three records, using those guitars and amps."

In an effort to raise awareness, the band took to Twitter and asked people take a list of stolen items to local pawn and music shops.

Publicist Ashley White confirmed the theft in an e-mail to The Associated Press.

Portugal. The Man hails originally from Wasilla, Alaska, and its members now live in Portland, Ore.
