Rhys Ifans won't be charged in Comic-Con incident (Reuters)

NEW YORK (TheWrap.com) – "The Amazing Spider-Man" villain Rhys Ifans will not be charged in an incident at San Diego's Comic-Con in which he was accused of shoving a female guard, authorities tell TheWrap.

"After reviewing differing witness accounts, our prosecutors concluded there was not sufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt," Gina Coburn, a spokeswoman for the San Diego Office of the City Attorney, told TheWrap.

Ifans was cited and released on suspicion of misdemeanor battery after he was accused of shoving the guard while entering the July 22 panel for "The Amazing Spider-Man."

Police said Ifans smelled of alcohol and became irate when a member of his entourage was unable to enter the hall for lack of proper credentialing. They said he shoved the guard in order to pass through, and was allowed to participate in the panel, but that the guard subsequently made a citizen's arrest.

A spokesman for Sony said at the time that Ifans "deeply regrets the incident."

In the new film, due next summer, Ifans plays the villainous Lizard, a scientist who takes on reptilian features after looking for a way to grow back his missing arm.

Samantha Ronson charged with drunken driving (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Celebrity DJ and Lindsay Lohan's ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson was charged with drunken driving following her recent arrest in a small desert town in California, officials said on Tuesday.

The San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office said Ronson was charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and having a blood alcohol level of .08 or above.

Ronson was arrested on August 1 near Baker, Calif., a small town about 125 miles northeast of Los Angeles. She was on her way back from playing a gig at the Palazzo in Las Vegas.

The celebrity DJ is a popular draw at nightclubs and is known for her past relationship with troubled actress Lohan, who has battled legal problems in recent years as she struggled with drug and alcohol dependency.

NYC woman charged with stalking Marion Cotillard (AP)

NEW YORK – French actress Marion Cotillard received threatening emails and videos from a New York City woman through a fan website, law enforcement officials said.

FBI agents said in a court filing that Teresa Yuan sent a series of spooky messages in July to the Oscar winner that included ramblings about wanting to play Russian Roulette with her.

"(W)ould you be willing to play Russian Roulette?" the woman said, according to a complaint that was unsealed Thursday in federal court in the Eastern District of New York. "If you weren't willing and you had no choice, I'd say `yeah, that's pretty unfair.' But would you still like it that at least there's only one bullet in this pistol?"

Yuan faces a charge of interstate stalking. Her lawyer, Michael Schneider, told The New York Daily News (http://nydn.us/r7C02B) he wouldn't comment on the case.

Yuan was arraigned Thursday and released on $50,000 bail. She was ordered to stay away from Cotillard and her fan website, and barred from using Internet access outside her home or on any mobile device. All other Internet use will be monitored.

Cotillard won an Academy Award in 2008 for her role as Edith Piaf in "La Vie en Rose," appears in Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris" and has a role in the upcoming Batman sequel, "The Dark Knight Rises."

The FBI said it received a complaint from the administrator of Cotillard's fan website in April, notifying them of the emails and video sent by Yuan.

By April, the communications had "become increasingly threatening in nature," the court papers say, and Cotillard's "immediate family have become concerned for their physical safety."

Yuan sometimes sent more than 100 email and video messages a day to the website, the court papers say. In one video she says she would feel no regret "after it happens" because "that's apparently how it feels to be a killer."

And in another recording, according to the court papers, Yuan said she could be "very calm and respectful and kind, but then you push me too far or you back me in a corner and this is how I feel ... " — ending the sentence by growling and hissing.

Rapper Big Sean charged after NY park concert (AP)

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Rapper Big Sean faces charges in upstate New York after a woman complained she was sexually assaulted during a concert.

State park police charged the 23-year-old Detroit rapper with misdemeanor counts of forcible touching, unlawful imprisonment and sex abuse. Another Detroit man, Willie Hansbro, faces the same charges.

Police received the complaint Thursday at Artpark State Park in Lewiston, downriver from Niagara Falls. Anderson was performing there with rapper Wiz Khalifa. Authorities won't elaborate on the complaint.

Big Sean and Hansbro were given Sept. 6 court dates for Niagara County Court and released on $500 bail.

Big Sean's real name is Sean Anderson. Scott Leemon, a lawyer for both men, said they "vehemently deny" the charges. He said he's confident they will be cleared after further investigation.

New Yorker charged with stalking French actress Cotillard (Reuters)

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard, cast in the next Batman movie, has a role in a real life Gotham crime after a stalker sent threatening messages to her fan site.

Teresa "Terri" Yuan, who lives in Queens, was arrested by the FBI on Thursday last week, said Robert Nardoza, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office in Brooklyn, which also covers Queens.

She was charged with sending threatening messages to a French movie actress, according to a criminal complaint. The actress is Cotillard, a law enforcement source told Reuters on Saturday.

Federal authorities have 30 days to seek a grand jury indictment. Yuan was released Friday on $50,000 bond, authorities said.

"The guilt and sorrow I feel now, I won't feel after it happens," said one of the videos Yuan e-mailed from Queens to fan club servers in New Jersey.

"After it happens I'll feel no regret whatsoever...that's apparently how it feels to be a killer, to be a murderer."

Yuan was accused of e-mailing several threatening videos and messages to the website, including one in which she indicated she knew Cotillard's travel schedule and planned to meet her.

No future court dates have been set in the case, which was heard in U.S. District Court in Brooklyn, Nardoza said.

Cotillard, 35, who won the Best Actress Academy Award for her role as Edith Piaf in "La Vie en Rose," also appeared in Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris," "Inception" and is cast in the upcoming Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises."

Yuan's lawyer, Michael Schneider, declined to comment.

Halle Berry stalker charged with burglary too (AFP)

LOS ANGELES (AFP) – A man accused of stalking Halle Berry was charged Wednesday with an additional count of burglary at the Oscar-winning US actress's Hollywood home.

Richard Franco, 27, allegedly broke into a guest house at Berry's Hollywood Hills property during one of the several times he was spotted there earlier this month.

The former Bond girl said Franco had "terrorized" her over three days from July 9, before he was arrested at 11:15 pm on July 11. "She is in fear for her safety," said prosecutor Wendy Segall.

Franco pleaded not guilty to the first-degree burglary charge, which said he broke into the guest house on July 10.

On July 12, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Carol Boas Goodson ordered Franco to stay 100 yards away from 44-year-old Berry and her daughter.

Franco, who is on probation for a battery offense, could be jailed for up to three years if convicted of the stalking charge, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.

At a hearing after the alleged stalker's arrest Berry said in a statement to the court: "Richard Franco is a stranger to me and I have no desire to have any contact with him.

"He has terrorized me and my family in three consecutive incidents over the last three days. This person has jeopardized not only my own personal safety, but also the safety and well-being of my family."

Berry, famous for the "X-Men" movie and as a Bond girl in "Die Another Day," won a coveted best actress Oscar in 2002 for her turn in "Monster's Ball," the first such award to an African American actress.

Alleged Halle Berry stalker charged with burglary (AP)

LOS ANGELES – Prosecutors have charged a man accused of stalking Halle Berry with felony burglary for being in the actress' guest house earlier this month.

Richard A. Franco pleaded not guilty to the additional charge during a court appearance Wednesday in Los Angeles. He now faces two felonies stemming from three incidents in which he was spotted on the Oscar winner's property in mid-July.

Berry has written in court filings that she is "extremely frightened" of the 27-year-old. She says he nearly gained entry into her kitchen before she was able to lock the door.

Criminal and civil judges have issued restraining orders against Franco in case he is released.

He has pleaded not guilty to stalking the actress and is due in court on Aug. 4.

Federal employee charged with accessing celeb info (AP)

SAN FRANCISCO – A U.S. State Department employee in San Francisco is facing charges that he looked up the passport applications of more than 100 celebrities in the government records system.

Federal prosecutors charged 60-year-old Richard Macias on Wednesday with three misdemeanor counts of exceeding authorized computer access.

Authorities say Macias worked for the passport agency for 24 years, most recently as a fraud prevention manager. They say he logged into the system 168 times to view and sometimes print out celebrity applications.

Macias told the San Francisco Chronicle that he plans to plead guilty in the case. He maintains that he viewed the applications for work and that none of the information was ever given away or used for profit.

Neither authorities nor Macias would name the celebrities involved.
