Three teens arrested for Sony warehouse fire in London (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) – Three teenagers have been arrested for the riotous fire that tore through Sony's Digital Audio Disc Corporation warehouse in north London Monday, destroying more than 1.5 million CDs, BBC reports.

Scotland Yard police told the BBC that two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old have been charged with violent disorder and arson. Two of the three remain in custody -- one of the 17-year-olds has posted bail.

The center was used as a location for storage of DVDs, Blu-rays, and PlayStation Portable game discs. The Enfield facility also served as the main headquarters for UK music distributor Pias, which handles stock for independent labels such as 4AD, Sub Pop, Domino, Warp and XL.

While larger firms, such as Beggars, have additional CD stock in other locations, smaller labels such as Memphis Industries may be out of luck. Memphis Industries, which handles acts such Tokyo Police Club and The Go! Team -- said in a Tuesday tweet:

"So all the stock we got left is sitting in our office. Devastated is the word," the label said. "Thoughts go out to all other Pias labels too."

With parts of the building still smoldering, many building inhabitants have yet to assess their damage. The BBC reported that it took 40 firefighters to tackle the blaze.

In the wake of the fire, Pias and the Association of Independent Music are teaming up for a fund that will help labels get back on their feet.

"I am very confident that our combined efforts will result in the smallest interruption to our collective business," Pias' Kenny Gates said in a statement.

"Kid" from 80s hip-hop band Kid 'n Play arrested (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – One half of the late 1980s hip-hop band Kid 'n Play was arrested on Tuesday for skipping out on a court hearing in connection with a 2010 drunk driving conviction, court officials.

Christopher "Kid" Reid, 47, was booked into the Los Angeles County Jail shortly before noon and held in lieu of $26,000 bail.

He was taken in after a judge issued a warrant for his arrest on August 2 for missing a July 25 hearing, said Patricia Kelly, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Reid was under court-supervised probation for a conviction stemming from a July 2010 arrest for driving with almost double the legal alcohol limit, Kelly said.

Reid was one half of the popular late 80s and early 1990s hip hop band, Kid 'n Play. Reid, along with Christopher "Play" Martin, were most popular for their roles in the "House Party" comedy films.

Outkast rapper Big Boi arrested for drugs (Reuters)

MIAMI (Reuters) – Miami police arrested Outkast rapper Big Boi on Sunday for possessing ecstasy and other drugs that the performer's lawyer later characterized as "contraband."

Media reports cited the Miami-Dade County Corrections Department's website as listing the rapper, whose real name is Antwan Patton, as having been arrested for having ecstasy, MDMA powder and Viagra, for which he had no prescription.

The Miami Herald reported that Big Boi faces a fourth count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Celebrity website TMZ.com said he was arrested by customs officials exiting a cruise ship, and that he'd been booked into jail in the afternoon but was released after posting a bond.

On the singer's official Twitter account, Big Boi initially tweeted "Fresh Out Baby!" and later, "...they said it was the Love Boat..." But details of the arrest could not be confirmed on Sunday evening.

An attorney for the rapper issued a statement saying he expects Big Boi will beat the charges.

"While Big Boi was traveling with his group and friends, a small amount of contraband was found in the collective luggage," attorney Daniel Kane said in a statement.

"I am confident when the entire facts are aired Big Boi will be completely exonerated."

Outkast was formed by Andre' Benjamin (who later became known as Andre 3000) and Patton (Big Boi) in the 1990s with a distinct brand of southern-influenced hip hop music. The pair scored several hits over the years including pop song "Hey Ya" from 2003 album, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.

"Spider-Man" villain Ifans arrested at Comic-Con (Reuters)

SAN DIEGO (Reuters) – British actor Rhys Ifans, who portrays the villain Lizard in the upcoming Hollywood movie "The Amazing Spider-Man," was arrested and cited for battery at the pop culture gathering Comic-Con on Friday evening.

"He was abusive, belligerent and aggressive, and shoved a female security guard," San Diego police spokeswoman Lt. Andra Brown said in a statement on Saturday.

Brown told Reuters a member of Ifans' "entourage" did not have proper identification to enter Comic-Con, a gathering of science-fiction fans and comic book lovers. for a promotional event to tout the upcoming "Spider-Man" movie.

Ifans used his hand to push his way past security, Brown said. He cursed the staff, hurled insults at the United States and loudly complained: "I don't live here," she said.

The police spokeswoman added that Ifans' breath "smelled like alcohol" but he was not cited for public drunkenness.

The guard who was pushed, however, made a citizen's arrest, leading San Diego police to issue Ifans a citation for misdemeanor battery. He was released, and the San Diego City Attorney will decide whether to take further action.

Sony Pictures, the studio behind the "Spider-Man" movies, issued a statement to showbiz website TheWrap saying Ifans "deeply regrets the incident."

The movie is a big-budget, special effects Hollywood flick, and the studio will have a lot of money riding on Spidey (played by Andrew Garfield) when he and Ifans' Lizard crawl into theaters next year.

Ifans has starred in numerous films such as "Notting Hill," "Little Nicky" and "Pirate Radio" during a career that has spanned two decades.
