RAMALLAH, September 10, 2011 (WAFA) – Palestine State 194 Saturday announced a series of activities that will be conducted in the Palestinian Territory to support the Palestinians' United Nations bid for statehood.
Abdullah Abu Rahmeh, coordinator of the Palestinian statehood national campaign, said Palestinian flag will be raised on houses, institutions, cars, public places, schools and universities starting Sunday, while campaign pumper stickers will be distributed to the public.
He said demonstrations under the title ‘Palestine State 194’ will head to the apartheid wall at several locations on September 16, while a women’s march with international and Israeli activists will head towards Qalandia military checkpoint on September 17.
The peak of the activities will be on September 21, the start of the UN General Assembly proceedings, and will go on for three days, he said.
A call was made of mass gatherings at city centers the morning of September 21 and mass rallies the evening of September 23, when President Mahmoud Abbas makes his speech at the UN General Assembly.Musical groups will perform nationalist songs at the rallies, he said.
