RAMALLAH, September 10, 2011 (WAFA) –President Mahmoud Abbas will meet Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan and European Union foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, on Monday in Cairo, Saturday said Abbas' spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh.
Abbas will discuss with Ashton the Palestinian bid to seek full United Nations membership of a Palestinian state within 1967 borders, added Abu Rudeineh, noting that Abbas will listen from Ashton to EU’s position from the Palestinian UN bid. He said the Palestinian leadership is willing to hear anyone’s position on this matter.
Abbas will be in Cairo to attend the Arab League’s follow up committee meeting on Monday, which will discuss Arab support to the Palestinian bid and possible steps to guarantee approval of Palestinian request to the Security Council later this month.
